Full Name: Meredith Monroe
Birthdate: December 30, 1977
Born: Houston, Texas
Raised: Hinsdale, Illonois
Unspoiled: Monroe insists tha being an only child didn't turn her into a brat. "I am not spoiled," she states. "I'm going to clarify that right now. I was spoiled with love, and of course, I got all the attention because there was no one else to split it between. But I didn't say, 'I want a horse,' and I got one."
Split But Not Divided: Meredith's parents divorced when she was just 2, but the actress says, "It's been wonderful because they're still good friends. If my dad hasn't heard from me in a while, he'll call my mom, 'How's Meredith? What's she been up to? How are you?' They would never badmouth each other or anything like that."
Weather Or Not: "I love thunderstorms. When I was in L.A. and El Nin^o came, I was like, 'Thank god. I'm sick of all this sunshine.' Thunderstorms are so beautiful and relaxing."
If MEREDITH could SWITCH ROLES with a character on Dawson's Creek, she would pick, ABBY MORGAN, before her untimely death, of course.
MEREDITH has two FAVORITE DAWSON'S CREEK EPISODES --
Both in Season Two, "The All-Nighter" and "Careful What You Wish For"
(Dawson's 16th birthday) were the most fun for her.
Or you could read it like a story:
Newcomer Meredith Monroe joins the cast of "Dawson's Creek" as Andie McPhee, whose quick wit and cockeyed optimism hides dark family secrets and will capture the heart of one of Capeside's eligible young bachelors this season. Monroe was born in Houston, Texas, and grew up in Hinsdale, Ill. After graduating from high school, she moved to New York to study acting. ~~~~~~~~Quotes~~~~~~~~
ANDIE: Doesn't it bother anyone what this says about our group's level of
integrity?
PACEY: I think I speak for "our group" when I retort with a hearty, "No."
Andie's whiney speech:
ANDIE: Principal Green... I made a mistake. A terrible error in judgment,
really. I know that there is no excuse for what I did, so I won't waste your
time. But there is an explanation -- one I can only pray that you might find it in your heart to understand. You see, there's this guy... When I met him, it was like... a shade going up in a dark room, the light suddenly pouring in. He understood things about me, things no one else ever did, ever could. And then... just as suddenly, the room went dark again. In my mind, I mean. You see, over the summer, I was treated at a psychiatric hospital. I didn't have to stay long. I got better. But when I came home, I'd lost the guy. My soul-mate. It was like having an organ, my heart, literally ripped from my body. All I could feel was cold and empty... my future, slipping away... You see, I lost my love -- but I was determined not to lose my life. That's why I stole the test. That's why I cheated. To make sure it didn't all get away from me. But I ended up just making things worse.
